This reminds me of a paragraph in a book I read not too long ago.

--
"Do you hold onto the dream because having dreamt it, it'd be too uncomfortable to let go? Or do you embrace the realization that it isn't that great and move on from there?"
-Roger Waters

"Paint it Black" by Janet Fitch

In the book the main character Josie strips down and jumps into this pool and describes it as her significant other sits and watches her. She says something like, "He watched me as I bathed in the deep green of his eyes", which was also the pool.

And yeah.

:)
